Our work
-
SBS
We thought
What excitement when we won the tender to become brand guardians of the University of Oxfords Business School. A modern Business School with an 800 year history.
We created
After a little consultancy getting to know the vision we refreshed the overall look and created cool online brand guidelines.
We delivered
Since the brand refresh we’ve set about producing a range of brochues for different courses and departments, all with a common look and feel.
-
Music In The Park
We thought
Tough times make it hard for local charities like Friends of Elms Park to raise money. They needed something that would bring people together and raise awareness as well as cash, we saw it as an opportunity for us to use all our event design expertise to help a cause close to home.
We created
A family-friendly festival bursting with music, activities and fun that would appeal to all generations and bring the Thame community together.
We delivered
A super-charged day of bands, dance troupes (performing on three stages – one of which was resourcefully put together by a scaffolding company!), mod-tastic scooters, food stalls, and a real ale beer tent. The day was a huge success (even the sun put in an appearance) raising over £8k and drawing in almost 3,000 people.
-
Housing 21 “Living our values” staff awards
We thought
Staff awards can be dry, dull and miss the whole point – saying a big “Thank You” to the people who go out of their way to make a difference. We wanted it to be about more than a fistful of gift vouchers and a handshake, we wanted everyone to feel appreciated and valued from the minute they arrived.
We created
A whole event brand for the words “Thank You” that permeated the whole day. A fabulous venue where guests could step out of their day-to-day world, be spoiled, catch up with other members of the H21 family – and an awards ceremony to honour everyone’s amazing contributions.
We delivered
A relaxing day where staff could leave their everyday lives at the front door. The Housing 21 thank you wall where everyone could show their appreciation for their colleagues and an awards ceremony & presentation that captured the enthusiasm and values that drive H21 staff to pull out the stops every day.
-
Lyon Communication
We thought
Robert Fenner is an experienced writer and public relations man. He loves campaigns and copy writing with impact.
We created
A visual identity that emphasises the strapline – don’t do dull. And a website look and feel with bags of personality.
We delivered
A range of funky business cards and an animated website that’s fun to play with. There’s even a gadget that turns verbose sentences into plain English.
-
ITSL
We thought
IT Support London wanted to break the mold – to be a fun, approachable IT company with personality. So they chose us to work with.
We created
A brand style that reflects the wit and wisdom of their team and the ethos of their company. We even did caricatures of the actual team members.
We delivered
An online world full of spacemen, aliens, a bit of planet earth and… well you’ll see when you visit the site. We also produced a low bandwith version of the site – incase you’re in a hurry or have a slow connection.
-
Stott and May
We thought
City head hunters Stott and May are slick, focussed and absolutely not run of the mill. They wanted a website to reflect that.
We created
A clean visual identity and a website concept that meant their site would be talked about all around the city of London. Can’t put a price on that.
We delivered
A cool paralax scrolling website that takes you into an executive lounge, a server room and more. There’s even a game of ping pong and a hidden shark.
-
Cranfield
We thought
Well done us for beating the stiff competition to create a campaign for Cranfield School of Management, promoting their MBAs around the world.
We created
Lots and lots of clever three word phrases using the initials MBA (and some EMBA for the executive version). The campaign fulfilled the brief of not looking like a.n. other business school.
We delivered
A range of beautifully designed materials for the Cranfield team to use at MBA fairs around the globe, including giveaways, banners and a competition involving making paper aeroplanes.
-
Il Palagio
We thought
Sting makes wine –who knew? We didn’t but he does, along with honey and olive oil. They needed a shop site that reflects the beauty of the Sumner estate in Tuscany where everything is lovingly produced.
We created
A look that is pared back without looking spartan and lets the estate and its produce speak for itself. There’s also a bit of hidden cleverness in the site build that allows it to adjust itself to the screen you happen to be viewing it on – so no mobile site headache.
We delivered
A simple yet stunning site where you can find your way to a case of wine without navigating a digital obstacle course. If you’re reading this and its pay day, take a look and maybe treat yourself. The honey’s really good…
-
3 Mobile book
We thought
Our lovely friends at 3 mobile asked us to produce something on paper about their phone loan scheme, which had to be printed the very next day. And it was now 5pm the previous day. Gulp.
We created
A very little booklet, with illustrations and everything. The world’s simplest stick-men, granted, but illustrations nonetheless. And well-structured, wittily-headlined copy to boot.
We delivered
By 9am, thanks to lashings of tea and late-night telly to keep us going. Job done. Now, where’s my bed?
-
Travelex
We thought
Now owned by Western Union, Travelex Global Business Payments is the world leader in international currency payment solutions, and they chose us to develop their suite of business sites around the world.
We created
A neat, considered set of sites, which would present the right information with the right priority for all the different regions around the world. The information structure and build had to allow for likely future developments too.
We delivered
In ten regions across the world. That’s a lot of different times zones! Travelex Global Business Payments has subsequently been sold but we’re very proud of the work we’ve done with them as an example of how a well-established brand can be re-imagined for a different offering.
-
Winter One-derland
We thought
Ok, it’s January. Christmas has been and gone, but there’s no reason not to have THE best Winter party ever…
We created
A transformation. From brick walls, desks and car parks to fun, fantasy, snowy winter wonderland, where guests conducted the important business of playing and partying like kids.
We delivered
Total white out –fluffy floor, sparkling icicles, endlessly falling snow, old school Slush Puppies™ with a kick, chilli bake-off, Summertown’s first outdoor ice rink, snowball throwing contest, the One Big Quiz, Little Red Video Shed –and every guest –all 100 of them, received a home baked, branded frosted cupcake invitation.
-
Citroën
We thought
All big organisations rely on great internal communications, and Citroen UK is no different. We’ve been helping them with theirs for over 3 years now.
We created
We call it simply People – does exactly what it says on the tin – tells the stories of the people who make Citroen the company that it is.
We delivered
And each issue, we take a very long word document and lots of amateur photographs and convert them into a smart magazine that makes a great read and really helps team communication.
-
The Big Pitch
We thought
How can we make Anglia Ruskin College’s business plan competition an inspiring, exciting, interactive experience for entrants and voters alike.
We created
An awesomely good, original idea for an on-line pitching environment, where competitors could upload their one minute videos, and voters could use a range of social media to ‘like’ their favourites.
We delivered
Branded, promotional Z-cards, brochures, T-shirts and ad hoardings and a really jazzy site, which, in just four short weeks, resulted in:
39 video pitches, 11,540 website visits, 6,413 Votes cast, 4,353 Facebook likes, 1,837 comments posted, 223 Tweets….And some very happy business plan competitions winners. -
Skoll Centre
We thought
Making money and making the world better are ideas that don’t usually sit together comfortably. But they do at the Skoll Centre. We loved the idea of helping them explain how business can do good in an intelligent and visual way.
We created
A brave and eye-catching visual language based on strong colours and clever words, all within the SBS identity. A linguistic game that pulls embedded sentences out of paragraphs. World-class communications.
We delivered
Strong messaging, printed brochures, postcards, programmes and welcome packs. Joined up communications to help the Skoll Centre recruit, retain and respond, so that they can get on with changing the world.
-
Venturefest 2010
We thought
How do we host 1000 international entrepreneurs, innovators and investors for a full day –keep them busy, stimulated, productive and engaged from 7am until the sun goes down? And then we started work…
We created
A vibrant, inspiring, learning and networking environment, where participants could immerse themselves in themed streams of events or pick and choose pertinent activities throughout their day.
We delivered
A full day programme of speaker sessions, panel discussions, lectures and workshops, exhibition and an innovation showcase, all with full AV production. We topped and tailed the day with a business breakfast and evening reception and dinner, with guest speakers. And guests at Venturefest got to test drive the Mini E all day!
-
Freeview
We thought
Freeview needed a brand identity and campaign materials for their Viewtrition campaign – which was all about making sure kids get all the benefits of a balanced TV diet.
We created
A brand campaign that worked across all audiences – from press and PR, to parents, to kids. Simple, striking, effective and on message.
We delivered
Top quality communication, sub-editing and design skills – and all the above had to be done extremely quickly! Still, the campaign was a great success, securing loads of great coverage.
-
Venturefest
We thought
Venturefest is the UK’s premier event for scientific innovators, inventors and investors to get together under one roof – it’s a giant and very grown-up dragon’s den.
We created
A one day annual event that we’ve run for three years now, all within a modern and fresh identity that intelligently evolves year-on-year to reflect the changing nature of innovation.
We delivered
Expert presenters in the innovation, learning and funding streams, an innovation showcase, an exhibition…. and a programme that conveniently fits in a suit pocket!
-
Click Netherfield
We thought
Isn’t it a pleasure to find out about industries you didn’t know existed? Click Netherfield make the world’s best museum showcases – but their brand didn’t deliver the same quality of their products.
We created
Messaging that delivers a fine balance between engineering and art. A language of story-telling. A way for the world’s leading architects and museum designers to relate to showcases.
We delivered
A beautiful coffee table book, magazines in English and French, a website that showcases (see what we did there?) their work, and a renewed sense of purpose in their marketing communications.
-
Science Oxford
We thought
Science Oxford’s brand and purpose was too much. Too many messages, too many audiences, too little structure. Like a signpost in Exeter with detailed directions to Edinburgh on it. They needed an entirely new brand strategy.
We created
We restructured their brand family and created a beautiful new set of identities, giving them the ability to slice up their communications into logical chunks and make sure their messages were delivered clearly.
We delivered
A linked family of comms materials – brochures, programmes, lampost banners, invitations and more. Oh and the science centres interior design uses the branding too.
-
Sheepskin
We thought
Not everyone wants the same from a cottage holiday. Sheepskin finds awesome, remote cottages and then tailor-makes your break for you! Absolute bliss….
We created
We knew we could tear up the rule book for holiday cottage brands, but that we had to be practical and deliver the flexibility of a fully content-managed site. Hmmmmm…..
We delivered
A beautiful, experiential website that showcase the beautiful locations and cottages, at the same time as being easy to navigate, and easy to update. We heart it.
-
Lakehouse Table
We thought
Food, pop royalty and fabulous events – what a combination! Lake House Table (Trudie Styler’s new food venture) asked us to help launch their new range of premium prepared meals – on-line and at a great press launch.
We created
On the web: A quirky and engaging site to showcase the Lake House Table food range. In print: leaflets and flyers to support the launch event. On the ground: the soul of the countryside in the heart of Soho.
We delivered
A cute website complete with store finder, farm blog and some great little animated touches, and a stunning launch event, mixing customised furniture, lighting, sound and real grass with georgian splendour.
-
Oxford World Book Capital
We thought
What an interesting challenge. Find a way to position the extraordinary tradition of Oxford’s book history against a backdrop of a modern a vibrant city.
We created
An icon for the 21st century. Bright, strong colours, layered on top of each other to represent the depth and variety of Oxford’s literature and history.
We delivered
A beautiful brand, a content rich website and a sparking bid document. In the end Port Harcourt in Nigeria won – they must have had cool stuff.
-
Hornsey road
We thought
Grainger PLC were building a multi-million pound development of old Victorian Baths in Hornsey. They were struggling to find an agency that would be able to bring their vision to life.
We created
The complete opposite of standard property marketing. Strong, urban colours and fonts. Interspersed with song titles from great London bands. The very essence of modern Hornsey.
We delivered
Brochures, website, exhibition materials, signage. We even reckon we helped deliver them a buyer – we used Madness’s “One Step Beyond” as a headline – and Suggs only went and bought one of the flats!!! Coincidence?
-
2 Degrees
We thought
2degrees is the world leading online community of over 10000 sustainability professionals. And they had a new service to deliver to a market jam-packed with both great ideas and jargon-talkers.
We created
Nothing works like story-telling as a way of delivering complex information in an engaging way. So we created them just that – a very simple story that cut through the marketing noise to deliver real results.
We delivered
Steve. Well, the story of Steve and his go-to-market journey with 2 degrees. As a piece of appropriately diminutive print and an animation that’s delivering them surprisingly good results.
-
Pegasus PR
We thought
All PR isn’t the same, and Pegasus are most definitely one of a kind. They’re lucky enough to live by the sea in Worthing, so when they asked us to create a new site we took their location as our inspiration. Literally.
We created
Their own little interactive world. A website that breaks quite a few rules and prompts many smiles, as well as delivering a beautiful window in their environment.
We delivered
A sideways scrolling panorama (featuring parallax scrolling, just in case you’d like to know) and a highly crafted experience, dotted with subtle and chucklesome animated sparkle.
-
Save the gibbons
We thought
1) Gibbons are cool. 2) The Goodies are cool 3) Working on a site that mixes the two is so cool it hurts your teeth.
We created
An identity that combines old and new, TV and internet, Goody and Gibbon.
We delivered
A campaigning site that delivers a serious message whilst hitting you with a rubber chicken.
-
Lake House Table – Press launch
We thought
What better way to showcase a seasonal product – fresh, organic food – than to bring the season, Spring, indoors.
We created
Spring in a box – an event to appeal to all the senses, to stimulate, enrapture and amuse. The result was an unforgettable launch event, which planted (see what we did there) the product, through beautifully crafted display, in the natural environment from which it comes.
We delivered
Birdsong, spring scents, tactile table runners made from real moss, growing flowers, budding in abundance, and a ‘Baa’, to keep the amber nectars and life giving waters flowing.
-
Nesbitt Farms
We thought
“Would you like to re-brand our farm” is not a question you hear very often. “Hell yes!” was our answer. It’s great to do good for people who do good.
We created
A whole new brand, a photo brief, a range of brochure designs and a clever little logo (well, we think it’s clever).
We delivered
A digital window on an organic world, featuring brand new photography, farm news and a show diary.
-
3 Mobile box
We thought
3 mobile’s strong brand of warmth and straightforwardness needed to be baked into their recruitment pack, at the same time as being clear enough to make sure all the important employment forms get filled in correctly!
We created
A lovely box containing the most down-to-earth and simple of welcomes – a brew and some tasty chocolate. And we popped a biro in the box too – just to give you one less excuse not to fill in your forms.
We delivered
Well, technically the postman delivered them. But, thanks to our exhaustive research into the minimum standard letterbox sizes in the UK (that was a fun Tuesday afternoon – surprising how hard it is to find out), we made sure he could.
-
Stowe school
We thought
What an opportunity. A new brand and a new website for one of the world’s best schools. Stowe is an exceptional place (how many other schools are also National Trust properties?), but its brand and site were letting it down.
We created
An online identity that lives up to and builds on Stowe’s qualities, rather than one that gets by because of them. A site design that truly opens a door into the heart of the school. A first-class site for a first-class school.
We delivered
Site visitors now experience Stowe more completely than ever before – they can explore the grounds, meet the teachers, understand the curriculum and or even just find out what’s for dinner.
-
Oxford University Department of Education
We thought
Educating educators is a rare opportunity, and one we grasped with all our hands. Oxford University’s Department of Education knew it needed a new website, but it wasn’t sure what that site should be.
We created
Understanding. We worked with the Department to help them understand the purpose of their site – sitting in on senior management team meetings and developing content plans with senior academics and administrators
We delivered
The website that they needed. Focused on student recruitment, full of relevant information and easy to manage and update, the Department now has a site to be proud of, and one that has already proved its ability to attract new students.
-
Skoll World Forum
We thought
This is the forth year we’ve been asked us to produce all the printed communication for the Skoll World Forum. Past speakers have included Desmond Tutu, Al Gore and Jimmy Carter – we must be doing something right.
We created
A comprehensive, sophisticated, insightful, informative, suite of materials, to enhance the distinctive Skoll branded environment in which the gathered masses of international social entrepreneurs immersed themselves.
We delivered
A beautifully finished eighty page programme, invitations, presentation slides, publicity posters, pocket size Z-cards, maps and large format banners. A wonderful Skoll world.
-
Saïd Business School – Executive Education Open Programmes brochure
We thought
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with the Saïd Business School to help them allow their content to sing.
We created
An evolved look using bold statements, striking colours, well structured content and clear information presented in eye catching graphics.
We delivered
An attractive publication, which will elegantly adorn brochure racks and be sent out into the big wide world, enticing prospective course participants to read more.
-
Drinks reception and dinner at the Ashmolean
We thought
The event offered the perfect opportunity to wine and dine guests at the fabulously renovated historic Ashmolean museum –and to give them a jolly good feed.
We created
A sophisticated, intellectually stimulating yet relaxed atmosphere for leading business figures to enjoy informal but productive discussion, in a unique, fascinating museum location.
We delivered
A champagne reception, an engaging guest speaker to keep 120 guests enthralled, whilst they tucked into a sumptuous three course meal, beneath the gaze of the ancient artifacts lining the Randolph Sculpture Gallery.
-
Traditional High Tea
We thought
We have the perfect venue for an exclusive, high class, themed sixtieth Birthday party for a highly respected academic guest of honour.
We created
A truly authentic experience – High tea, properly served, laced with vintage class, nostalgia and exquisite finishing touches.
We delivered
Themed invitations and table settings, Period music, played on a traditional gramophone, an abundance of flowers, picnic basket gift boxes with premium quality, era correct goodies within – and lashings of cake and tiny sandwiches with the crusts cut off.
